Xuepei Hou is a Beijing-born, New York-based director and photographer. She came to filmmaking through documentary work in China — learning to observe before she learned to direct. That eye brought her to New York, where she completed her MFA at Stony Brook University in association with Killer Films and turned that instinct toward narrative.
